Reimagine Phase Amendments to Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) Accountability System and ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµer’s Regulations Permanently Approved by New York State Board of Regents 
- On June 10, 2025, the Board of Regents took permanent action to approve amendments to Sections 100.19 and 100.21 of ¿ì²¥ÊÓÆµer’s Regulations that enact the federally approved amendments to the New York State accountability system under ESSA beginning in the 2025-26 school year based on 2024-25 school year results.Ìý
- The Reimagine Phase accountability system features: Ìý
- a new Attendance indicator, which replaces the Chronic Absenteeism indicator at the elementary/middle and high school levels; Ìý
- the reintroduction of the elementary/middle level Student Growth and high school level College, Career, and Civic Readiness (CCCR) accountability indicators;  Ìý
- changes to accountability indicator calculation methodology; and  Ìý
- revised support model identification and exit criteria. Ìý
- To further support districts, schools, and charter schools in understanding the revised accountability system that will take effect in the 2025-26 school year with continuous improvement planning, the Department has developed and released variety of resources and materials on the , including:Ìý
- fact sheets;ÌýÌý

- static cut points for the Core Subject Performance and Attendance accountability indicators; andÌý
- ÌýStatewide Measures of Interim Progress and Long-Term Goals for Weighted Average Achievement (inclusive of English Language Arts and Mathematics), Graduation Rate and English Language ProficiencyÌýÌýÌý
